Alesha Dixon is an English singer, songwriter, television personality and author, best known for her work with the R&B group Mis-Teeq and for her solo pop career.

Early life

Alesha Dixon was born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, on 7 October 1978. She is of English/British nationality.

Music career

Dixon began her career as a member of the British R&B group Mis-Teeq. After the group disbanded, she launched a solo career, releasing albums such as The Alesha Show, The Entertainer and Do It for Love. Her solo singles include UK Top 10 hits 'The Boy Does Nothing' and 'Breathe Slow'.

Television work

In 2007, she won the fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing. She later served as a judge on the show from 2009 to 2011. Since 2012, she has been a long-running judge on Britain's Got Talent.

Other work

Beyond music and television judging, Dixon has worked as a television presenter and children's author. She became a bestselling children's author with the Lightning Girl series.
