Early life and youth career

Angel Gomes was born in London and joined Manchester United’s academy at a young age. He progressed through the club’s youth system and became one of its most closely watched prospects.

Club career

Gomes made his Manchester United debut at age 16, going on to make 10 senior appearances before leaving in 2020. He joined Lille in 2020, initially spending time on loan at Boavista. After establishing himself in Ligue 1, he moved to Marseille, where he continued his senior club career. By mid-2026, he was listed as a Marseille player and had also been linked with a short loan return to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2025/26.

International career

Gomes has represented England at multiple youth levels, including under-16 through under-21. He won the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup and the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with England. He made his senior England debut on 7 September 2024.
