Early life and background

Anthoine Hubert was born in Lyon, France, on 22 September 1996. He was introduced to motorsport by his father, an amateur rally driver. Hubert progressed through karting and junior single-seater racing before reaching international Formula series.

Junior single-seater career

Hubert competed in French Formula 4 and later in the GP3 Series, where he established himself as a leading young driver. He won the GP3 Series championship in 2018 and moved on to the FIA Formula 2 Championship.

Formula 2 and death

In 2019, Hubert raced in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. On 31 August 2019, during the feature race at Spa-Francorchamps, he was involved in a fatal accident on the second lap at the Eau Rouge/Raidillon section. He died later that day at the circuit medical centre.
