Early life

Chigvintsev was born in Izhevsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Russia) on 12 June 1982. He began dancing in childhood after his parents enrolled him in classes. He trained in Russia, and later in Germany and England, before reaching television fame.

Career

Chigvintsev became a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, winning the series with celebrity partner Kara Tointon. He later moved to the United States and joined Dancing with the Stars in 2014, where he became a regular professional dancer. His television work made him a well-known ballroom and Latin dancer.
