Arthur Jones

Arthur Willis Jones III was an American professional football defensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2010 to 2017.

Arthur Willis Jones III (June 3, 1986 – October 3, 2025) was an American professional football defensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2010 to 2017. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens and won Super Bowl XLVII with the team. Jones also played for the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins before retiring after the 2017 season.

Early life and college

Jones was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Endicott, New York. He played college football at Syracuse University, where he became a standout defensive lineman.

NFL career

Jones entered the NFL in 2010 after being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round. He spent his first four seasons in Baltimore, later joined the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins, and finished his career after the 2017 season.

Super Bowl XLVII

Jones was part of the Ravens team that won Super Bowl XLVII. His time in Baltimore was the highlight of his professional career and the source of his championship ring.

Death and family

Jones died on October 3, 2025, at his home in Pompey, New York, at age 39. He was the eldest of three athletic brothers, including UFC champion Jon Jones and NFL player Chandler Jones.
