Production

Avengers: Age of Ultron was directed by Joss Whedon and produced as part of Marvel Studios' Phase Two lineup. It continued the franchise's ensemble approach, bringing back the main Avengers cast and adding new characters.

The film premiered in Hollywood on April 13, 2015, and opened in U.S. theatres on May 1, 2015. It was generally well received by critics and became a major global box-office hit, grossing over US$1.4 billion worldwide. During its run, it was the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2015.

Legacy
