Manga

The series began as a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018 and collected into tankōbon volumes.

Anime adaptation

Blue Lock was adapted into a television anime that began airing in October 2022. The adaptation is based on the manga's story and follows Yoichi Isagi's progress through the program. Season 2 aired in October 2024.

Characters and setting

Yoichi Isagi is the main character, while Jinpachi Ego oversees the Blue Lock Project. The story focuses on competition among young forwards aiming to become Japan's top striker.
