Early life and college football

Bob Sapp was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on September 22, 1973. He attended the University of Washington, where he played as a guard for the Washington Huskies and won the Morris Trophy.

Professional football career

Sapp was selected in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He later spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, but his NFL career saw very limited game action.

Professional wrestling and combat sports

After football, Sapp moved into professional wrestling before branching into mixed martial arts and kickboxing. He became especially popular in Japan and achieved notable success early in his combat sports career, including winning the K-1 World Grand Prix 2005 in Hiroshima.
