Life

Brianna Ghey was born on 7 November 2006 and was a pupil at Birchwood Community High School in Warrington. She was a transgender girl and was 16 years old when she died.

Murder

On 11 February 2023, Brianna was lured to Culcheth Linear Park and stabbed to death in what prosecutors described as a planned attack. Her body was found by members of the public later that day.

Investigation and trial

Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe, both 15 at the time, were arrested the day after the killing and later charged with murder. They were convicted in December 2023 at Manchester Crown Court and sentenced in February 2024.
