Early life

Carlo Acutis was born in London on 3 May 1991 and grew up in Italy. He died of leukaemia in Monza, Italy, on 12 October 2006 at age 15.

Religious significance

Acutis became widely known for his devotion to the Eucharist and his efforts to document Eucharistic miracles online. He created a website cataloguing Eucharistic miracles and used the internet to spread Catholic devotion. His life is presented by the Catholic Church as an example of modern holiness.

Beatification and canonization

He was beatified in Assisi on 10 October 2020 after the Church recognized a miracle attributed to his intercession. He was canonized as a saint on 7 September 2025.

Legacy

Acutis is often described in media and Catholic coverage as the first millennial saint and a patron-like figure for internet evangelization, especially among young Catholics.
