Charles Tisseyre was born in Montréal in 1949 and later earned a law degree from the Université de Montréal in 1973. After graduating, he shifted away from legal practice and toward broadcasting and journalism.

Career in television journalism

Tisseyre began at Radio-Canada International and then worked in the newsroom, including as co-host of *Montréal ce soir* and an anchor on the *Téléjournal*. He later became host of *Découverte* in 1992.
