Geography

The villages developed as small coastal and agricultural communities and later became a protected landscape. The area is now part of Cinque Terre National Park and is recognized by UNESCO for its cultural and natural significance.

Transport and access

The area is best reached by regional rail, with La Spezia serving as a common gateway. Visitors also use ferries and footpaths, while private car access is limited by the terrain and village layout.
