Early life and youth career

Seedorf was born in Paramaribo, Suriname, and moved to the Netherlands as a child. He joined Ajax’s youth system and developed there before becoming a professional footballer.

Club career

He played for Ajax, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Botafogo during a long senior career. His club success included league titles and multiple European honours, especially in the UEFA Champions League, which he won four times with three clubs: Ajax, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

International career

Seedorf represented the Netherlands at major tournaments, including the UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup. Sources differ slightly on his total caps, but he was a long-time Dutch international. He made 79 or more appearances for the Netherlands, depending on the source, with Fox Sports listing 87 caps and Real Madrid listing 79.

Post-playing career

After retirement, Seedorf worked in coaching, including spells with AC Milan and the Cameroon national team. He has also appeared as a television analyst and remained active in football-related public roles. He was included in Pelé’s FIFA 100 list of the greatest living footballers.
