Courtney Lee Sarault is a Canadian short track speed skater from Moncton, New Brunswick.

Courtney Lee Sarault is a Canadian short track speed skater from Moncton, New Brunswick. She has competed at the Olympic Winter Games and won medals on the ISU World Tour and at the Olympics. In 2025, she became the first Canadian woman to win the Crystal Globe title on the Short Track World Tour.

Early life

Courtney Sarault was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States, and grew up in Moncton, New Brunswick. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), she began training in short track speed skating at the age of seven.

Career

Sarault has been competing on the ISU Short Track World Tour since the 2018–19 season. She won her first World Tour event in 2022. At the 2021 World Championships, she earned a silver medal in the 1,500 metres event.

Olympic competition

Sarault represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. She also competed at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, where she won multiple medals: a silver in the mixed relay, a bronze in the women's 500 metres, and additional medals in the women's 1,000 metres and women's 3,000 metres relay.

Notable achievements

Sarault's major achievements include winning the 2025 Short Track World Tour Crystal Globe, becoming the first Canadian woman to do so. She also reached the world No. 1 ranking in the women's 1,000 metres distance as of February 2026. She is considered one of Canada's leading short track speed skaters.
