NFL career

After going undrafted in 2008, Amendola entered the NFL as a free agent and eventually became a productive slot receiver and returner. His longest and most prominent stint was with the New England Patriots, where he was part of multiple championship teams. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Rams, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans. He finished his NFL career with 617 receptions, 6,212 receiving yards, and 24 receiving touchdowns.

Retirement and coaching

Amendola announced his retirement in 2022 after 13 NFL seasons. He later had a brief coaching stint with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023, working with return specialists.
