Dara Singh

Early life

Dara Singh was born as Deedar Singh Randhawa in Dharmuchak, Punjab, in 1928. He came from northern India and later became known by the ring name Dara Singh.

Wrestling career

Singh became one of India's best-known professional wrestlers and gained recognition in India and abroad during the mid-20th century. Sources describe him as an undefeated or highly successful competitor in many matches and tournaments.

Film and television career

After wrestling, Singh acted in Hindi and Punjabi films and also worked as a director and producer. His portrayal of Hanuman in Ramayan became one of his most widely recognised screen roles.
