He has also worked as a tennis commentator for ESPN.

Early life and playing career

Darren Cahill was born on 2 October 1965 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He turned professional in 1984 and played on the ATP Tour until 1995. His highest singles ranking was No. 22 and his highest doubles ranking was No. 10. He played right-handed with a one-handed backhand.

Notable results

Cahill’s best Grand Slam singles result was reaching the semifinals of the 1988 US Open. He won two ATP Tour singles titles: Gstaad in 1988 and San Francisco in 1991. He also won 13 ATP doubles titles and reached the Australian Open men’s doubles final in 1989.

Davis Cup representation

Cahill represented Australia in Davis Cup competition, compiling a 6–4 match record. He was part of the team that reached the 1990 Davis Cup final, with stronger results in doubles than singles.

Coaching and media career
