Darren Drozdov

Darren Alexander Drozdov (April 7, 1969 – June 30, 2023) was an American football player and professional wrestler, best known for competing in the World Wrestling Federation under the ring names Droz and Puke.

Early life and football career

Drozdov was born in Mays Landing, New Jersey, and played football at the University of Maryland. He later had short professional football stints in the NFL and CFL, including time with the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos.

Professional wrestling career

Drozdov joined the WWF in the late 1990s and wrestled as Puke and later Droz. He became known to audiences through his appearances with Legion of Doom and other WWF programming.

1999 injury and aftermath

A match accident in 1999 caused a severe neck and spinal cord injury that ended his active wrestling career. He became quadriplegic and later continued working for WWE in a non-wrestling capacity.

Death

Drozdov died on June 30, 2023, at the age of 54. Reports stated that he died of natural causes.
