Early life and youth career

Džeko was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 17 March 1986. He started his professional career in Bosnia before developing in the Czech Republic and then moving into top European leagues.

Džeko has played for clubs including VfL Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, Inter Milan, Fenerbahçe and Schalke 04.
