Early life and club career

Cannavaro was born in Naples and came through the youth system of Napoli before establishing himself at Parma. He later played for Inter Milan, Juventus, and Real Madrid, where he won consecutive La Liga titles in 2007 and 2008.

Italy career

Cannavaro earned 136 senior caps for Italy, making him the country’s most capped defender at the time of his international retirement in 2010. He captained Italy to the 2006 FIFA World Cup title and represented the nation at four World Cups.
