Premise

The story begins six months after an alien invasion has left most of the world incapacitated. Survivors gather into resistance groups, including the 2nd Massachusetts Militia Regiment, to fight occupying alien forces.

Production

Falling Skies was created by Robert Rodat and co-conceived with Steven Spielberg, who served as executive producer. The series was produced by DreamWorks Television, and later Amblin Television was involved as well.

Broadcast history

The series premiered on TNT in the United States on June 19, 2011. It ran for five seasons and concluded on August 30, 2015 after 52 episodes.

Main cast

Noah Wyle stars as Tom Mason, with Moon Bloodgood and Will Patton among the main cast. The ensemble portrays civilians and fighters trying to survive under alien occupation.
