Powertrains and variants

The North American Fusion was available with gasoline engines as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems. Ford marketed the hybrid as the Fusion Hybrid and the plug-in hybrid as the Fusion Energi.

Production and platform

The car was assembled at Ford’s Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly plant in Sonora, Mexico. It used a Mazda-related CD3 platform and was also related to the Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ.

Discontinuation

Ford ended Fusion production after the 2020 model year. The model’s discontinuation reflected Ford’s broader move away from traditional passenger cars in the U.S.
