Grass Wonder
Grass Wonder was an American-bred, Japanese-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and stallion.
Grass Wonder (18 February 1995 – 8 August 2025) was an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who was trained and raced in Japan. He was a top juvenile in 1997 and later won major Grade I races including consecutive Arima Kinen victories and the Takarazuka Kinen. He died at age 30 in 2025.
Racing career
Grass Wonder competed from 1997 to 2000 and won nine of his fifteen starts. He became one of the leading Japanese racehorses of his generation, with major wins at both two and three to four years old.
Stud career
After retirement from racing, Grass Wonder stood at stud in Japan beginning in 2001. His offspring included major winners such as Screen Hero and Earnestly, extending his influence in Japanese breeding.
Legacy
