Professional football career

Walker began his professional career in the USFL with the New Jersey Generals before moving to the NFL. He played for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants, and the 1989 trade involving him remains notable in NFL history.

Beyond football

After retiring from football, Walker founded Renaissance Man Food Services, a food distribution company. He also became involved in public life, including service on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition and a 2022 Senate run.
