Plot

The film follows Jessica, a woman who moves back into her childhood home with her family. Her youngest stepdaughter Alice forms an unsettling attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey, which leads to increasingly sinister events.

Imaginary was developed as a Blumhouse Productions horror film and directed by Jeff Wadlow, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. It was produced in the United States in English.

Release

Lionsgate released the film theatrically in the United States on March 8, 2024. It later became available for home viewing through digital and streaming release in late March 2024. The film was distributed internationally, including to Canadian audiences.

Reception

The film received generally negative reviews from critics. Despite that response, it earned a worldwide box office total reported at roughly $43 million against a reported budget of $10–13 million.
