Early life and marriage to John F. Kennedy

Jacqueline Lee Bouvier was born on July 28, 1929, in Southampton, New York. She married John F. Kennedy in 1953. The couple had four children: Caroline Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr. survived into adulthood, while Arabella was stillborn and Patrick died shortly after birth. She became first lady when Kennedy was inaugurated in 1961.

First lady of the United States

As first lady from 1961 to 1963, Jackie Kennedy became one of the most widely recognized public figures in the United States. She is especially remembered for her work on White House restoration and her public image during the Kennedy administration.

Later life and second marriage
