Early life and youth career

Hernández was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on 1 June 1988. He developed through the youth system at Guadalajara, the club where his father, former Mexican footballer Javier Hernández Gutiérrez, also played.

Club career

Hernández began his senior club career with Guadalajara in 2006 and won the Primera División with the club. He became Manchester United's first Mexican player when he signed in 2010. With Manchester United, he won two Premier League titles and scored 59 goals in 157 matches. He later played for Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham United, Sevilla, and LA Galaxy before returning to Guadalajara.

International career

Hernández has been a long-time member of the Mexico national team and became its all-time leading goalscorer with 52 goals. He has represented Mexico at major international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup.

Playing style and recognition

Known for his movement, finishing, and pace, Hernández became one of Mexico's most prominent footballers of the modern era. His early success at Manchester United brought him major individual and team honours. He was named the Mexican ambassador for UNICEF in 2012.
