Milei was born in Buenos Aires in 1970 and trained as an economist. He later worked as a public commentator and television personality, which helped raise his national profile.

Political rise

He entered electoral politics through La Libertad Avanza and won a seat in the Chamber of Deputies in 2021. In 2023, he won the presidency after defeating Sergio Massa in the runoff election.
