He is best known for his long spell at Barcelona, where he won multiple domestic and European honours, and for his international career with Spain, including victory at UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League.

Early life and youth career

Alba was born in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Catalonia, in 1989. He began in Barcelona's youth setup before leaving the club. He continued his development elsewhere and established himself in senior football.

Club career

Alba played for Valencia before returning to Barcelona in 2012. At Barcelona, he became a long-term first-team regular and won 16 major honours, including five La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey titles and one UEFA Champions League. He signed for Inter Miami in 2023 after leaving Barcelona.

International career

Alba made his senior debut for Spain in 2011.
