Early life and education

Kevin Warsh was born in Albany, New York, in 1970. He earned an AB from Stanford University in 1992 and a JD from Harvard Law School in 1995.

Career before the Federal Reserve

Warsh worked at Morgan Stanley from 1995 to 2002, rising to vice president and executive director. He then joined the George W. Bush administration, working on economic policy at the National Economic Council as special assistant to the president for economic policy and executive secretary.

Federal Reserve service

Warsh served on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors from 2006 to 2011. He returned as chair of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors on May 22, 2026. The Federal Reserve states that he also chairs the Federal Open Market Committee.

Later professional roles

After leaving the Fed in 2011, Warsh was affiliated with Stanford University as a visiting fellow and lecturer. He also served as a partner at Duquesne Family Office.

Personal life

Warsh is married to Jane Lauder, a member of the Estée Lauder family, since 2002.
