The series starred Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen, Bill Mumy, Angela Cartwright and Jonathan Harris. The first season was filmed in black-and-white, shifting to colour for later seasons. John Williams composed the theme music for the original series.

2018 Netflix reboot

Netflix released a new Lost in Space series in 2018. The reboot reimagines the Robinson family in a more serialised survival story after they crash-land on a habitable alien world. It ran for three seasons from 2018 to 2021.
