Luc Bourdon was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman from Shippagan, New Brunswick. He played junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and was drafted 10th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Bourdon played 36 NHL games for Vancouver before his death in a motorcycle accident in 2008 at age 21.

Early life and junior hockey

Bourdon was born in Shippagan, New Brunswick, and overcame childhood arthritis before developing into a top junior prospect. He was drafted third overall in the 2003 QMJHL draft and played four seasons in the league.

Professional career

The Vancouver Canucks selected Bourdon 10th overall in 2005. He made his NHL debut in 2006 and split his professional career between Vancouver and the Manitoba Moose.
