Mark Hoppus is an American musician, songwriter, singer and record producer best known as the co-founder, bassist and co-lead vocalist of blink-182. He was also a member of +44 and Simple Creatures, and has worked as a producer and television host.

Early life

Mark Allan Hoppus was born on March 15, 1972, in Ridgecrest, California. He developed an interest in skateboarding and punk rock as a teenager and learned bass guitar in his youth.

Hoppus formed blink-182 in San Diego with Tom DeLonge and drummer Scott Raynor. After Travis Barker replaced Raynor, the band achieved major mainstream success with albums such as Enema of the State.

Other musical projects

Following blink-182’s 2005 split, Hoppus recorded with Travis Barker in +44. He later became involved in Simple Creatures, expanding his work beyond his main band.

Production and media work
