Early life and training

Naomi Urness was born on 5 August 2004 in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, and is from Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. She began skiing at a young age and later transitioned into freestyle skiing, training in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air.

Competitive career

Urness joined the Canadian national team in 2023 and rose to international prominence during the 2025–26 season. She reached the podium in multiple World Cup big air events in 2025, winning silver and bronze medals before claiming a World Cup big air gold medal in 2025. She also won a Crystal Globe in big air. At the 2026 Winter X Games, she won a silver medal in slopestyle and finished fourth in big air.

Olympic debut

Urness was named to Team Canada for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. At the Games, she competed in women’s big air and slopestyle, placing sixth in big air and seventh in slopestyle.
