Early life and education

Pamela Brown was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on November 29, 1983. She is the daughter of former Kentucky governor John Y. Brown Jr. and television personality Phyllis George. Brown earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later completed a Master of Studies in Law degree at George Washington University in 2023.

Career

Brown began her journalism career in Washington, D.C., working at ABC7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel8. She joined CNN in 2013 and subsequently held roles as national correspondent, justice correspondent, senior White House correspondent, anchor, and chief investigative correspondent. CNN describes her as an award-winning journalist whose investigative work has received an Edward R. Murrow Award and multiple Emmy nominations.
