Gascoigne represented England 57 times and scored 10 goals. He became one of the most prominent English midfielders of the 1990s and was widely remembered for his performances at major tournaments.

Later career and retirement

After Rangers, Gascoigne returned to England with Middlesbrough in 1998 and later played for Everton, Burnley, Gansu Tianma and Boston United. He retired from professional football in 2004.
