Career

Pickard was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round, 49th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play for multiple NHL organizations—including the Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Coyotes, and Detroit Red Wings—before joining the Edmonton Oilers in 2022.

Edmonton Oilers tenure

Pickard signed with the Edmonton Oilers on July 13, 2022. He has played for the Oilers in the NHL and has also spent time with their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. On June 28, 2024, the Oilers signed him to a two-year contract extension.

Playoff involvement

Pickard contributed to Edmonton's 2024 Stanley Cup Playoff run, posting a .915 save percentage in three playoff games, including appearances in the Stanley Cup Final. He also returned to the net during the 2025 Stanley Cup Final.
