Early life and education

Rachel Sennott was born in Simsbury, Connecticut, and studied acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She later began performing comedy in New York City open-mic venues.

Career

Sennott first gained wide attention through independent comedy films, then expanded into studio features and television. Her breakout film role was in *Shiva Baby* (2020). She starred in *Bodies Bodies Bodies* (2022) and *Bottoms* (2023), the latter of which she co-wrote. She had a supporting role in HBO’s *The Idol* (2023) and leads and co-created HBO’s *I Love LA* (2025–present).
