Early life and training
Riku Miura was born in Takarazuka, Hyogo, on 17 December 2001. She began skating in 2006 and later specialised in pair skating. ISU athlete information lists her as a university student, with Oakville, Canada, as her hometown and Kinoshita Group as her club.
Pair skating career
Miura formed a partnership with Ryuichi Kihara in 2019. Together they became one of Japan’s most successful pair teams, collecting major international titles and multiple historic firsts for Japanese pair skating.
Olympic results
Miura and Kihara won silver in the team event at the 2022 Winter Olympics and again at the 2026 Winter Olympics. They then won gold in the pairs event at Milano Cortina 2026, becoming Japan’s first Olympic medalists in pairs skating.
