Early life and college career
Sarah Nurse was born on January 4, 1995, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She played collegiate hockey for the University of Wisconsin, where her performance helped establish her as one of Canada’s top women’s hockey prospects.
Professional career
Nurse has played professional women’s hockey in Canada. As of the 2025–26 season, she plays for the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the PWHL and serves as an alternate captain. She was originally signed as one of Toronto’s first foundational players in 2023 and later moved to Vancouver with the league expansion.
International career
Nurse has been a major contributor to Canada’s women’s national team. She won a silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and a gold medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she set Olympic scoring records.
