She won the 2019 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and represented Canada at the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships, earning a silver medal. She has also won multiple university and provincial titles, making her debut at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2024.

Early life and education

Sturmay was born in Leduc, Alberta, on June 21, 1998. She played curling while studying at the University of Alberta, where she was recognized as a top female Academic All-Canadian. She graduated from the Faculty of Nursing.

Junior and university curling

She made her first appearance at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2016 as a skip from Airdrie. In 2019, she won the Canadian Junior Curling Championships with an undefeated run. The team then earned silver at the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships. At the university level, she helped the University of Alberta win the Canadian University Championship in 2018 and 2020, and represented Canada at the Winter Universiade.

Women’s curling career

Sturmay moved into women’s competition as the skip of Team Sturmay, based in Edmonton. The team won the 2024 Alberta women's championship and represented Alberta at the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, her debut at the event.
