Premise

Themes

The series focuses on class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival. These tensions drive most of the conflict aboard the train, with a central social divide between wealthy passengers near the front of the train and poorer passengers in the rear cars.

Snowpiercer was developed as a television adaptation of the 2013 film and the original French graphic novel. Josh Friedman and Graeme Manson are credited as the series creators. The show was developed by Tomorrow Studios.

Broadcast history

The series premiered on TNT in the United States on May 17, 2020, and concluded after four seasons in 2024. Its original run ended in 2024. The series later became available on additional streaming platforms in some regions.
