Originally from Chicoutimi, Gagnon has built a career spanning both performance and writing.

Career

Gagnon has worked across theatre and television, appearing in productions such as Ruptures, Plan B, L’échappée, Ma mère, Stat, and Dernière seconde. He is also active as a playwright and stage director.

Writing and theatre work

As an author, Gagnon has written several plays, including La Montagne rouge, En-dessous de vos corps, je trouverais ce qui est immense et ne s’arrête pas, and Fendre les lacs. He co-founded the theatre company Théâtre Jésus, Shakespeare et Caroline.

Recognition

Gagnon received the Bourse Première Œuvre in 2008 for La Montagne rouge. The play was later a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award in 2011.
