Early life and career
Leiweke was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1957 and entered sports management in the late 1970s. He worked in the Major Indoor Soccer League and became the youngest general manager in professional sports at age 24 with the Baltimore Blast.
AEG leadership
Leiweke joined the Los Angeles Kings and later became president and CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group, where he oversaw a broad sports and entertainment portfolio. His tenure included arena and district development projects such as L.A. Live. During his time with the Kings, the team featured players such as Anze Kopitar.
