He is the head coach of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL) and previously coached the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils. Playing career

Green began his professional career after being selected 23rd overall by the New York Islanders in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He played centre in the NHL from 1992 to 2007 for the New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins. In 970 regular-season games, he recorded 193 goals and 262 assists.

Coaching career

After retiring as a player, Green moved into coaching in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Portland Winterhawks and in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Utica Comets. He later became head coach of the Vancouver Canucks in 2017, serving until 2021. He then coached the New Jersey Devils from 2022 to 2024. He was named head coach of the Ottawa Senators in 2024.

International play

Green represented Canada at the IIHF World Championship. His most notable international achievement was winning the gold medal at the 1997 tournament.
