Xavi Quentin Shay Simons is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Tottenham Hotspur and the Netherlands national team. A graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, he has also played for Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig. He is known for his technical ability, creativity and versatility in attack.

Early life and youth career

Simons was born in Amsterdam in 2003 and moved into Barcelona’s La Masia academy at a young age. He became widely known as one of the most promising youth players in Europe.

Club career

After leaving Barcelona, Simons signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and made his professional debut in 2021. He won domestic honours with PSG before moving on to senior football elsewhere. He had a standout spell at PSV Eindhoven before joining RB Leipzig on loan in 2023. Simons joined Tottenham Hotspur in August 2025.

International career

Simons made his senior debut for the Netherlands during the 2022 FIFA World Cup era and has since become a regular international option. He has been used in attacking midfield and wide roles.
