History

Canada’s Olympic participation began at the 1900 Summer Games and became regular from 1904 onward, with the only Summer absence in 1980. Canada has been present at every Winter Olympic Games since the Winter Games began in 1924.

Canada has hosted three Olympic Games editions: Montreal 1976, Calgary 1988, and Vancouver 2010. These events are among the most significant moments in Canadian Olympic history.

Medal performance

Canada has won medals in every Olympics it has entered, with Vancouver 2010 standing out as its most successful Winter Games. CBC notes that Canada finished first in the medal standings at Vancouver with 26 total medals, including 14 gold.
