William Carrier is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born in LaSalle, Quebec, he was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 2013 and later won the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 and the Hurricanes in 2026.

Early life and junior career

Carrier was born in LaSalle, Quebec, and developed as a hockey player in Canada before entering the NHL draft. He had strong scoring production with Cape Breton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before being drafted in 2013. He is part of the Quebec hockey pipeline, which includes Patrick Roy.

Professional career

After being drafted by St. Louis, Carrier was traded to Buffalo in 2014 and later reached the NHL. He became known as a physical forward during his time with Vegas and later with Carolina. He was selected 57th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues. He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2014 before making his NHL debut. Carrier later played seven seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights. In July 2024, he signed a six-year contract with the Hurricanes.

Stanley Cup championships

Carrier won his first Stanley Cup (Coupe Stanley) with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023. He won his second championship with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2026.
